Belated Lego Christmas From Sunny Florida
I've been wanting to post this photo for a while, but life has been a bit crazy around here. My son and I created this scene of an imaginary North Pole this past Christmas, and finished it just in time for Christmas Eve. My fingers were just a wee sore from snapping all the bricks together! I'm sure not many people realize that while Santa is away delivering gifts to all the boys and girls of the world, Mrs. Claus likes to take a spin in her yellow McLaren P1. (My son insisted on including this tidbit in the scene.) Out of shot is a Lambda shuttle as the star on top of the tree, and just behind Santa's house lurks a Florida alligator, ready for some Christmas cookies. Yeah, that's how we roll down here in the Sunshine State. I hope everyone had a nice holiday.
Two Highlights From DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN
Right now, I am playing DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN, a new title by Quantic Dream studio. As its predecessors – Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain, and Beyond: Two Souls – the game uses cinematographic language with its mechanics based on decision trees. During most part of the narrative, you must take significant decisions that will affect the course of the game and result in different ends for the story. The trailer below shows the gaming dynamics and main plot:
Besides the immersive narrative and beautiful graphics, I want to comment on two great features of this game.
1) The ending phase screens show the complete decision tree of each chapter. This is a very cool feature from DETROIT, you can observe in details what type of consequence your acts generated inside the gaming narrative. This visual aid helps players understand how each character works in the ambient. Below, there's an example of this feature.
2) The opening screen always has an interesting content. Every time you start to play DETROIT, there's one opening screen with a very sympathetic female android named Chloe giving you a technological trivia. I was playing it in June 7th and she told me that that day was Alan Turing's (the British mathematical genius) date of death. Then, last Saturday morning she told me "this is a perfect way to start a good weekend". The android also takes interesting surveys, asking players about the interface between human and machine. It is just a "content snack", but it helps to contextualize the gaming experience in a more immersive way. Below, I'm sharing some of these moments:

Alberto Fujimori tiene sus candidatos propios en la discutida lista parlamentaria de Fuerza 2011.
Gina Pacheco: "En mi condición de enfermera he asistido al presidente Fujimori junto al médico Alejandro Aguinaga".
Y no es solo por su hijo Kenyi. En el puesto 33 se encuentra Gina Pacheco, la enfermera que lo asiste desde hace siete meses en la Diroes. Alejandro Aguinaga, congresista y médico de cabecera del ex presidente, dice que Pacheco es una "dirigente con jale". Pero en la familia parecen pensar distinto.
La Naranja Metálica
Denuncias de cupos empañan presentación de lista fujimorista.
La conformación de la lista parlamentaria fujimorista se ha visto empañada por denuncias de cobro de cupos e inclusiones desconcertantes, como la de Kenyi Fujimori en el número 3 por Lima.
Y en todo el despelote el ex presidente Alberto Fujimori vuelve a ser actor principal.
Tanto que Gina Pacheco (40), quien lo visita como enfermera desde hace algunos meses en la Diroes, figura en la lista.
Reaparición de personajes controversiales y "jales" incomprensibles entre los candidatos fujimoristas al Congreso, como el de la ex UPP Karina Beteta.
Moisés Guía Pianto, ex jefe de campaña de Fuerza 2011 en Junín, y que acaba de denunciar el escandaloso cobro de cupos, considera "que la enfermera del señor Fujimori vaya como candidata al Congreso denota el grado de improvisación total en la elaboración de las nóminas. Han dejado de lado a personas de valía para dar paso a parientes y amigos de los Fujimori".
Guía Pianto reveló de otro lado que "personalmente entregué US$ 10 mil en efectivo a Fujimori en la Diroes para participar en las elecciones del 2010".
Denuncia que ahora le pidieron US$ 200 mil para encabezar la lista por Junín.
En mayo del 2010, el empresario trujillano Hermes Alejandro Ramírez denunció el cobro de cupos para postular al gobierno regional de La Libertad (CARETAS 2131).
El sábado 15, la propia candidata Keiko Fujimori oficializó la lista por capítulos, vía twitter. La de Junín será encabezada por Jesús Pánfilo Hurtado.
LA ENFERMERA PACHECO
"Soy invitada del Comité Ejecutivo Nacional de Fuerza 2011. Mi candidatura la he coordinado directamente con Keiko Fujimori y siempre he sido simpatizante del fujimorismo", precisó Pacheco a CARETAS.

Graduada de enfermera en la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, la candidata al Congreso reconoció sus visitas a la sede de la Diroes, donde el ex mandatario purga prisión por violaciones a los derechos humanos.
"Sí, he visitado (la sede de) la Diroes. En mi condición de enfermera he asistido al presidente Fujimori junto al médico Alejandro Aguinaga", declaró. El congresista Aguinaga es médico de cabecera de Fujimori, quien en los últimos años ha sido trasladado hasta 15 veces al Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas para ser tratado de una lesión cancerosa en la cavidad bucal.
Moisés Guía Pianto, ex jefe de campaña en Junín, denuncia que le quisieron cobrar US$ 200 mil por ser incluido. Critica presencia de Pacheco.
"Es una profesional que asiste al presidente Fujimori en el tema nutricional", remarca Aguinaga, quien añadió que el ex mandatario ha bajado 14 kilos de peso. "Es una dirigente que tiene su jale", advirtió.
Lo tiene, ciertamente. Pacheco admite conocer al ex presidente apenas hace siete meses. Pero ya en diciembre pasado, cuando la confección de las listas no estaba en la agenda mediática, CARETAS recibió un calendario para promocionar su candidatura.
En diciembre ya se habían mandado a hacer 10 mil calendarios.
Según conoció esta revista, fue el propio ex mandatario quien mandó a imprimir diez mil calendarios. Pese a la oposición de la candidata Keiko y su hermana Sachi, Pacheco fue incluida en el número 33 de la lista.
"Nunca he participado en política", advierte la enfermera. "Siempre he sido apolítica y admiro al presidente Fujimori por su lucha contra la pobreza y la estabilidad económica".
Entre sus propuestas están: defensa de la célula viva para militares y policías que lucharon por la pacificación y nombramiento de enfermeras contratadas en EsSalud.

Hubo más sorpresas. Karina Beteta, representante de Huánuco, que llegó al Congreso con UPP y es recordada sobre todo por condecorar a Magaly Medina, tentará la reelección con los fujimoristas. También está Rofilio Neyra, ex candidato regional por Ayacucho, y Carlos Raffo, cada vez más complicado judicialmente por el caso de los pagos realizados por Vladimiro Montesinos.

El retorno de Luz Salgado, Carmen Lozada y Martha Chávez provocó la renuncia del congresista Rolando Sousa, quien pidió "no manchar la lista llevando a personas vinculadas con parientes envueltos en escándalos judiciales". Los esposos de Salgado y Lozada, son prófugos por delitos cometidos durante la década del '90. A Sousa tampoco le gustó que le asignen el puesto junto al comentarista deportivo Gian Carlo Vachelli, conocido como "Angelito", que ocupa el número 6. (Marcelino Aparicio)
